Iringa/Zanzibar – June 2025

The Moravian Society of Germany (HMH), through its local partner Tanzania Mwangaza, has successfully supported the construction of two new kindergarten schools aimed at enhancing early childhood education in Tanzania and Zanzibar.

The newly established centers—Moravian Mwangaza Day Care in Iringa and Mwangaza Educational Centre in Zanzibar—are set to begin enrollment of children in July 2025. These facilities have been built with the goal of strengthening foundational education in underserved communities, offering young learners a safe and nurturing environment to begin their educational journey.

Both projects reflect HMH’s continued commitment to investing in sustainable community development through education. The initiative is a key step in improving access to quality early childhood education, which is critical for long-term academic success and social development.

Tanzania Mwangaza, which is implementing the projects on the ground, expressed gratitude for the support received from HMH and reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring that the centers are well-equipped and professionally staffed.

“This is more than just building classrooms—it’s about investing in the future of our children and our communities,” said Eng. Edger Teacher, Country Project Manager for HMH Tanzania and Executive Director of Tanzania Mwangaza.

With the construction now complete, preparations are underway to furnish the facilities and install playground equipment to create a holistic learning and play environment for the children.

Tanzania Mwangaza welcomes continued collaboration with stakeholders and local authorities to ensure the long-term success of these centers and to extend similar opportunities to other regions in the future.
