Students from the Herrnhuter Vocational Training Centre for Tourism and Hospitality have successfully completed their internship program at Melia Hotel Zanzibar and are now returning to school to finalize their studies. The program, aimed at providing practical experience in the tourism and hospitality industry, has been a key stepping stone in their professional development.
The internship initiative was made possible through HMH Germany’s generous support, with Tanzania Mwangaza serving as the implementer and supervisor of the allocated funds. Through this partnership, students were able to gain hands-on experience in real-world hospitality environments, enhancing their skills and preparing them for future careers.

It’s rewarding to see them return with enhanced confidence and knowledge,” the representative stated.
Students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting the invaluable experience gained during their placements. “This internship has given me real exposure to the industry, and I now feel more prepared to pursue my career in hospitality,” shared one of the participants.
The completion of the internship program marks another milestone in the collaboration between HMH Germany ,Tanzania Mwangaza and Herrnhuter Academy, reinforcing their commitment to empowering youth through vocational education and practical training. As these students return to complete their studies, they carry with them the skills and knowledge that will shape their future in the tourism and hospitality sector.
